30th Frostfall, 4E 171, line by WilliamWeird 30th Frostfall, 4E 171, line by WilliamWeird
"On the 30th of Frostfall, 4E 171, the Aldmeri Dominion sent an ambassador to the Imperial City with a gift in a covered cart and an ultimatum for the new Emperor. The long list of demands included staggering tributes, disbandment of the Blades, outlawing the worship of Talos, and ceding large sections of Hammerfell to the Dominion. Despite the warnings of his generals of the Empire's military weakness, Emperor Titus Mede II rejected the ultimatum. The Thalmor ambassador upended the cart, spilling over a hundred heads on the floor: every Blades agent in Summerset and Valenwood. And so began the Great War which would consume the Empire and the Aldmeri Dominion for the next five years."

- Legate Justianus Quintius, "The Great War"

This scene I found so juicy, and was compelled to illustrate. Leave it to the Thalmor to pick the Septim Emperor's Birthday to deliver such a lovely gift. Even One-point perspective bugs me, which is why I always avoid it. I suppose that only answers why I should practice it. I'll try a colouring later, perhaps... But then again, my laziness *is* pretty strong.

Evil f*ckers!  They want to kill Nirn. This is their end goal. Attack the Empire, ban Talos, kill humanity, and destroy the world's pillars. Awesome picture.

Perhaps Dovahkiin's parent's heads were amongst those in the carriage. The Dragonborn is about 30 years old. It would make sense their parents were Blades.

He/she looks like they're about 30. Though you can't really tell because Delphine looks young, and she has to be at least 50. It would make sense the Dragonborn's parents are Blades though. There is nothing known to your characters backstory.

But that defeats the purpose of the "unknown champion" mythos that Bethesda built since Arena. That, and there's an age and complexion slider available in the character creation portion, isn't there?

The age slider from Oblivion wasn't present in Skyrim.

I just left a comment on the coloured version, so I thought I should come back and leave a comment on the original as well. So very depressing! But in a good way. Poignant. Painful.

The scene is amazing: the graves, the cart, the Altmer... But I must applaud that centurion crest properly done. *tears of joy*

TES fanart is seriously lacking historic pieces like this one! Kind compliments to you, sir.

great drawing and great scene
you got a good ink style that looks like the concept art from the morrowind art-book (best sketches in my opinion)
hope theres a dlc eventually that lets you really bring the pain to the dominion
keep it up

Gorgeous I love how it goes back to the art from Morrowind that I absolutely loved.

I couldn't help but absorb a lot of MK's style over the years. His confident linework was very addictive, and studying it improved my inking greatly

Amazing drawing, I just read this book today in Skyrim. Minor detail is the age of our beloved Emperor Titus Mede II, on your drawing he looks the same as he does in 4E201, that's 30 years. Not that familiar with the ES lore but what he old when he ascended the throne?

As I was detailing that portion, I was totally shrugging it. I'd assumed that he would be roughly at 40's with an fully receding hairline. Went ahead and lengthened his hair slightly for the fashion. If there was to be a colouring, I planned to do a rich hair tone, depending on what Attrebus' descendants looked like.

This is very good. I really like the design you have for the cart, kept it quite high elven, ala the Thalmor armor.

Good ole' Titus. Pity it was an inevitability that he had to reign through.

Now that I think of it, I haven't really updated dA in quite some time. There might be some current artwork safe to post here that I could share :D
